Protect Your Car Wrap This Winter!
Protect Your Car Wrap This Winter!

Along with the cold weather comes the responsibility to maintain the best condition of your vehicle wrap. Vinyl car wraps are durable and can even protect your car's paint. However, winter conditions can take a toll on any old or new vinyl wraps and can cause damage if it needs to be maintained correctly.
Suppose your vehicle wrap is part of your business' vitality. In that case, you need to take precautions during wintertime to give it the best chance to hold up in the colder temperatures, icy roads, salt, and snowy conditions. With that said, here are our top tips to keep your vinyl looking good as new by the time winter is over:
Avoid Using a Snow and Ice Scraper on the Vinyl
If you use ice scrapers or snow shovels to clear your wrapped vehicle of snow, ice, or salt, they can potentially scratch your vinyl. We recommend using a soft brush or cloth instead, putting on water-resistant gloves, and using an absorbent towel to wipe the snow off your automobile. Or, use a hose to run water (not hot) on the vinyl to rinse the debris.
Clean Off Salt from the Vinyl Wrap
Although road salt is vital throughout the winter season to melt snow and ice, it can cause damage to vinyl and paint if it's not quickly removed from your vehicle. Ensure the salt is also removed from the undercarriage and wheel wells, as it will cause rust.
Wash Your Car Frequently
Aside from salt, debris such as bird droppings, crushed insects, tree sap, gas, and more may adhere to your car during the winter, which can stain and alter the colors of your graphics. To prevent this, gently spot-clean your car wrap with light detergent and rinse with cold or lukewarm water.
